Months ago, President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo threw a lavish dinner at a French restaurant in New York. At Le Circe, she and her delegation spent a million just for one dinner.
Her foreign trip spending went to a humongous 800million pesos. After her luxurious trips were put in the bad light, her defensive cabinet members and press feeders and spin doctors said that the money where taken from the emergency fund. Ironic that during the time of the Manila floods, the government cannot even provide many rubber boats. PAGASA weather monitoring system has not been modernized with the big sum of money the Arroyo administration has spent on luxurious travels. |
